Produce

We pride ourselves in buying quality fresh produce from Scottish suppliers wherever possible.

Our sausages, bacon, black pudding, haggis and eggs (large free range) are delivered to us 3 times a week from Letterfinlay Specialist Foods. They also mix their own muesli and we find that the blueberry and cornflower and the cranberry and pecan are favourites of our guests.

We buy jam and marmalade made by Mackays. Mackays is a family business located between the berry fields of Scotland and Dundee the 'Home of Marmalade' The preserves and marmalades are made in the traditional open pans with 100% natural fruit.

We use oatmeal ground for us at Golspie Mill we drive up to collect a sack which involves a 6 hour round trip.

The kippers are from Loch Fyne but we buy them from Watts Fishmongers in Oban by the stone, this equates to about 30 kippers. These we do have to freeze and are defrosted overnight. We used to grill them but after a recommendation from Loch Fyne these are now cooked in the oven in a foil tent.

The other daily produce like milk, butter, bread, tomatoes and mushrooms are bought on a daily basis from our local CoOp.

Oh yes and the baked beans are by Heinz!
